Please do not miss the ehibition Golden glimpes. The International Gothic in Florence. 1375-1440. Until the 4th of November 2012 at the Uffizi Gallery of Florence.
It is not only a rich exhibit full of masterpieces, some of them just restored, but really a unique experience for the quality of works and for the mounting on blue panels with a good choice of lights. Wonderful paintings by Agnolo Gaddi, Gherardo Starnina, Lorenzo Monaco, Paolo Uccello. Magnificent statues such as the bronze Saint John the Baptist by Lorenzo Ghiberti, just restored or the wooden Crucifix by Donatello. The last room reserves a dazzling surprise: the Battle of San Romano by Paolo Uccello, shown for the first time after a long restoration which gives it back its astonishing colors, the volumes of horses and armed soldiers and a landscape never seen before!
