From the 16 of July until the 3rd of November the Pitti Palace in Florence houses the exhibition dedicated to the Medici collection of ivory objects: “Diafane passioni” (Diaphanous passions). The first collector was Ferdinando I de’ Medici (1549 -1609) who started one of the most beautiful ivory collections in Europe.
The exhibition shows 150 pieces: cups, relieves, saints, portraits, mythological compositions divided in sections from Renaissance to Baroque.
