Since September 27 at the Strozzi Palace in Florence the exhibition Russian avant-guard, the Siberia and the East. Kandisky, Malevič, Filonov, Gončarov.It is the first International exhibit showing the importance of eastern and euroasiatic sources in Russian Modernism. Neolithic stone statues, Chinese popular etchings, Japanese engravings, Indian philosophy are some of the elements which influenced new artists and new writers just before Russian Revolution in 1917.
Among the artists at the show: Pavel Filonov, Natalia Gončarova, Wassily Kandisky; Kazimir Malevič.
