The new major of Florence has recently decided to remove the metal detectors at the entrance of the Signoria Palace.  Now for getting to the offices of the City Government  or  to the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio  you can simply pass through one of the four doors of the palace.  Besides from the main entrance, near the copy of the David by Michelangelo, you can enter directly (with no crowd) the first courtyard rich of splendid columns with stuccos and decorated with frescos.
