Uffizi Gallery - Opening new rooms

Uffizi Gallery - Opening new rooms

The Uffizi Gallery of Florence is going to open a new section. By June ten new rooms at the first floor of the museum will be ready for visitors. The new rooms, located at the piano nobile of the building built in 1560 by Giorgio Vasari will be arranged for showing the paintings of the 1500 tuscan painters such as Andrea del Sarto, Raphael and Bronzino.  Moving  the paintings to the new area  required the temporary closing of some rooms in the Gallery: Raphael’s and the Tuscan manierists’. At the moment the danger of a total closing of the Uffzi Gallery seems to be warded off.
